ILK Learning is an online course marketplace serving students and children's programs. The engagement began as a collaboration to grow their organic presence.
During the initial consultation, the team told us they had attempted SEO before but never saw meaningful results.
The Challenge
With a site this large, our first priority was crawlability. Using ScreamingFrog and Chrome Developer Tools, we found the site relied entirely on JavaScript to render its pages. That approach was far from SEO-friendly and posed a real obstacle to visibility.
As we went deeper into the technical audit, we uncovered more critical issues. These were the root cause holding back the site's search visibility, and no amount of content work would pay off until they were fixed.
Our Solution
Technical fixes get complicated inside a large organisation, where requests pass through several layers of communication. To get results with minimal back-and-forth, we built a comprehensive spreadsheet that let ILK Learning's development team tackle the most critical issues quickly.
Our primary goal was simple: make sure course pages could be crawled, rendered, and indexed in Google Search. That gave the later phases of the campaign a solid foundation to build on.
Results
Fixing the technical foundation unlocked the marketplace's catalogue in search:
- •1,026 additional pages now indexed in Google, a 94% increase in coverage
- •40% increase in keywords ranking in search results
- •124% increase in traffic from existing pages, excluding the newly added ones
Overall organic traffic grew 213% over the campaign, and we built 8 backlinks along the way.
